Media Badge

What does a Media badge allow?

Media badges will be issued to individuals and companies providing media coverage of the 2021 Dynamic Discs Open. Bearers of Media badges will have access to all courses used during the event. Media must follow the following rules while on a course:

  1. Media members must wear a mask the entire time they are on the course. The only exception to this rule is if they are eating or drinking.
  2. Media members must maintain appropriate social distancing from any other players, other caddies, or media members on the course (6 feet).
  3. Media members must behave professionally, not disrupting the regular play of disc golf.
  4. Failure to comply with any of these rules will lead to immediate dismissal from the course and the Media badge’s forfeiture.

The Media badge does allow special parking privileges at the Jones Gold Course. Media members can park on-site by entering the park’s west entrance (off of Prairie Street). The Prairie Street entrance is the ONLY entrance a Media member may use for entry. Media members will be given access to park on the east side of the drive leading to the Jones West Hole 1 parking lot. Signs will direct Media members to this area. Media members found to be escorting non-credentialed individuals onto the course will forfeit their media badge and media privileges.

If a media member does not want to park on-site at Jones Gold, the Media badge will also allow access to the Jones Gold Shuttle. The shuttle will run each day during DDO week between the Southeast corner of the Flint Hills Mall Parking Lot (1632 Industrial Road) and Hole one of the Jones Gold course. Jones Gold will be completely closed off. All of the roads entering and exiting the park will be barricaded. The shuttle will leave the mall parking lot at the top of the hour, 15 minutes after the hour, 30 minutes after the hour, and 45 minutes after each hour. The shuttle will leave Hole 1 at the Jones Gold course at 7 minutes after the hour, 22 minutes after the hour, 37 minutes after the hour, and 52 minutes after the hour.
Note: Jones Gold will be set up before Monday, April 26th, but with cars able to access the park. The course will also be open on Saturday, May 1st, for a flex-start C-tier, but not closed to car traffic.
