Dynamic Discs has upped the ante ahead of the 2016 Glass Blown Open.
World-renowned design and manufacturing company OGIO will serve as the official apparel and bag sponsor of the GBO. The company has committed to a significant sponsorship for the tournament, which will bring together over 1,100 players in what has quickly become one of the premier competitions of the sport.
Dynamic Discs and OGIO have collaborated since 2012, producing stylish and innovative products like the Dynamic Discs Ranger Disc Golf Bag. For Dynamic Discs owner Jeremy Rusco, this sponsorship is the natural evolution of what was already an incredible relationship.
“It means so many things and we are extremely thankful for their partnership,” he said. “It means that we can again wow everyone with the hugely anticipated GBO Player’s Pack. It means that OGIO sees the potential for explosive growth in the disc golf market. It means that OGIO wants to be more involved than they already are with disc golf.
“It means that a major company outside of disc golf is showing massive interest in our little corner of the sports world.”
OGIO’s involvement in the Glass Blown Open began at last year’s tournament, when OGIO’s Nick Wright, Global Vice President, Branded Partner, visited Emporia to represent the company and further explore the growing sport of disc golf. Needless to say, Wright liked what he saw.
“I was blown away last year,” he said. “I hadn’t ever been to any disc golf event and I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I saw the passion, professionalism and excellence that Dynamic Discs exudes and that their supporters share. These guys are blowing up and we are very excited to be a part of it.
OGIO’s contributions to the Glass Blown Open are just the beginning in the company’s continued partnership with Dynamic Discs. Rusco teased several new products in development, including three more bags to be introduced for Spring 2016.
Through their continued collaboration, OGIO and Dynamic Discs will strive to push the envelope of both style and function. “OGIO is a hugely successful company,” Rusco said. “When someone of that caliber recognizes your efforts as being worthy of getting involved with, it gives us a sense of accomplishment. OGIO has been in business for almost 30 years and they are much larger than we are. There are so many things we can learn from them, the staff that we partner with is extremely easy to work with and we genuinely enjoy one another.
“If we can have half of their success, disc golf will never be the same.”
In addition to the cash sponsorship, OGIO will be offering a 50% discount code on their website until the end of 2015. This code is good on only regularly priced items and does not include shipping. To order, visit www.ogio.com, and at checkout apply the code ‘2015-CORP-VIP’ to the ‘Discount Code’ box.
